He began his studies at the “Taller Permanente Opera de Caracas” and at the “Conservatorio de la Orquesta Nacional Juvenil” with Isabel Palacios and Madalit Lamazares.

He made his official debut singing Rodolfo from Puccini’s Opera “La Bohème”, conducted by Carlos Riazuelo with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela.

Sánchez Moreno won the Latin-American auditions of the “Luciano Pavarotti” competition in Caracas at the “Teresa Carreño” Theatre. This result allowed him to go to Philadelphia and participate to the final stage of the competition.

He lived for four years in Toronto (Canada), where he studied singing technique and repertoire with Louis and Gina Quilico.

At the same time he took lessons with Professor Victor Martens at the Waterloo University. Toronto gave him the opportunity to improve his experience in the operatic repertoire. He recorded a CD of “Classic Neapolitan Songs” for the Canadian Discography House Montano-Greco Records.

He sang his most important debut in Denver (Colorado) as Radames in Verdi’s Opera “Aida”, conducted by Janos A’cs.

In this opera, produced by Nathaniel Merrill, he met and shared the stage with the famous American Bass Jerome Hines, who worked with him and later on quoted him in his last book: “The four voices of man”.

Mr. Hines was very much impressed by him and after a few meetings and conversations on singing technique, he introduced the name of Miguel Sánchez Moreno among the most interesting personalities that he encountered throughout his life (such as Robert Merrill, Leonard Warren, Jussi Bjoerling, Ramón Vinay, Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Rosa Ponselle etc); Sánchez Moreno will remain the youngest singer ever interviewed by Mr. Hines.

In Europe, he made his debut with the opera “Il Trovatore” (G. Verdi) in the Czech Republic, this time conducted of John Tintner.

The Operas  “Aida” and “Il Trovatore” have given him the possibility to sing very important houses in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and Italy, becoming appreciated and sought tenor for the Verdian heroic roles; He has performed these two operas more than a hundred times each.

Mr. Sánchez currently lives in Milano (Italy). While in Italy he acquired more experience by doing other important operas such as “Cavalleria Rusticana” (Mascagni), “I Pagliacci” (Leoncavallo), “Andrea Chénier” (Giordano), “Tosca”, “Madama Butterfly”, “Turandot”, “Il Tabarro” (Puccini), “Carmen” (Bizet), “Norma” (Bellini), “La forza del destino”, “Otello” (Verdi).

After a few years, he returned to Venezuela to sing “Aida” in Caracas at the “Teresa Carreño” Theatre (where he started his professional career), in the role of Radames with the sopranos Maria Dragoni and Christine Weidinger, conducted by Pablo Castellanos.

Mr. Sánchez’s concert activity has taken him to many of the most important concert halls in the world such as the The Berlin Philarmonic, Conservatorio Giuseppe. Verdi Milano, Teatro Dal Verme Milano, Conservatorio Bolzano, etc with very positive reviews for “his beautiful round and bronze voice, typical of the dramatic tenor”.

The most important acknowledgements come from the “Circolo Verdiano Falstaff” (Busseto) as “Recognition of an artist that, during his artistic career, has demonstrated honour for Operas of Giuseppe Verdi and has become the European spokesman of the belcanto tradition and pride from Busseto as especially with the interpretation of “Otello”, were he transmits those emotions that the verdian people expects to feel.

Recently he sung “Tosca” in Seoul (Korea) at the Arts Center Theatre with Katleen McCalla and Mauro Augustini, conducted by Giacomo Loprieno; he will sing Radames in the production of “Aida” in Quito (Ecuador)and the role of Cavaradossi in “Tosca” in Austria.
